Christopher D. Haveman

Biography

Christopher D. Haveman is Professor of History at the University of West Alabama, USA. His book Rivers of Sand: Creek Indian Emigration, Relocation, and Ethnic Cleansing in the American South (2016) won the James F. Sulzby Book Award. His second work, Bending Their Way Onward: Creek Indian Removal in Documents (2018) won the Dwight L. Smith (ABC-CLIO) Award and was a CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title by the American Library Association. Haveman received his BA from Western Washington University, his MA from Marquette University, and his PhD from Auburn University.
