Paula Reavey is Professor of Psychology & Mental Health at London South Bank University and Deputy Director of the Centre for the Sciences of Place and Memory at the University of Stirling (Leverhulme funded). Paula is the co-author of Vital Memory & Affect: Living with a Difficult Past (2015, with Steve Brown; Routledge), which was nominated for the British Psychological Society Book Award. She has also led and co-authored ten commercial booklets for the Design in Mental Health Network examining the relationship between environments, architectural design and mental health care. She has edited and co-edited five further volumes (on memory and child sexual abuse, visual methods, space and mental health), including the forthcoming Routledge International Handbook of Lived Experiences of Madness and Distress (with Jacqui Dillon). Paula is conferred Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and an advisor to NHS England and the World Health Organization (WHO) and a recipient of several funded projects examining inpatient environments, alternatives to inpatient mental health care, community mental health care and mental health care in Ukraine.
