Piotr Zwierzchowski, published several books in Polish on the history of Polish cinema, including Forgotten Heroes: The Protagonists of Polish Socialist Realist Films (2000), The Broken Monolith: The Contexts of Polish Socialist Realist Cinema 2005), and The Cinema of New Memory: The Image of World War II in Polish Cinema of the 1960s (2013).
