Richard Beach is Professor Emeritus of English Education at the University of Minnesota. His work has centered on teaching literature, composition, media literacy, and the role of language in English language arts instruction, with a particular emphasis on climate change education. He has also examined how students engage with environmental issues through school-based and community learning contexts. He previously served as President of the Literacy Research Association.
