Yahia Zhengtang Ma is a scholar of queer translation studies and a literary translator. He holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is the author of Translating Queer Desires: Chinese-Language Queer Literature and English Translation (Routledge, 2027). His research has been published in Babel: International Journal of Translation, Transcultural: A Journal of Translation and Cultural Studies, Journal of Literary Multilingualism, Made in China, Melbourne Asia Review, among others. His recent translations include works by Chi Ta-wei, Xia Mucong, Cui Zi’en, Gui Hong (Timothy Wang), and Dan Shi. He is co-editor of Queer Literature in the Sinosphere (Bloomsbury, 2024).
