Critical Studies in Museums, Material Culture and Heritage Education

Veysel Apaydin (Series Editor)

This series explores how the interconnected fields of museums, material culture and heritage can use education as a platform and tool to address today’s pressing social, political, economic and environmental challenges. Rather than being rooted in a single discipline, the series emphasises the importance of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches. It positions critical education and social justice at the intersection of these fields, highlighting its potential to drive meaningful change and engage with global issues.

Critical Studies in Museums, Material Culture and Heritage Education publishes single-authored books and edited volumes from both emerging and established scholars and practitioners around the world who are committed to critical education and social justice. These books critically examine the relationships between objects, cultural spaces and people, placing education at the centre. Drawing on educational, political, environmental and postcolonial theories, the series engages with a broad range of contemporary and historical issues.
