Cristina Dâmboeanu is Senior researcher at the Institute of Sociology, Romanian Academy. Her research interests include the study of "total institutions" and sociology of human rights, with a recent focus on totalitarian regimes, and sufferings of the past. She is currently part of the research team studying “The collective memory of conflict. The exploration of post-communist commemorative calendar”.
