Jacob Justice is Assistant Professor of Speech Communication and the Director of Forensics in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Mississippi, USA. Jacob completed his BA in political science and communication at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He then completed an MA and PhD in communication studies at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. From 2020-2021, Jacob was a Postdoctoral Teaching Associate at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Jacob directs the Warren Debate Union and teaches classes on rhetoric, debate, and public speaking, as well as seminar courses in the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. Jacob’s research focuses on political rhetoric, narrative, and argumentation. His research has been published in Rhetoric & Public Affairs, Argumentation & Advocacy, Philosophy & Rhetoric, Journal for the History of Rhetoric, Rhetoric of Health & Medicine, Western Journal of Communication, and Southern Communication Journal.
