Jeremy Hicks is Professor of Post-Soviet Cultural History and Film at Queen Mary University of London. He is the author of Dziga Vertov: Defining Documentary Film (2007), First Films of the Holocaust: Soviet Cinema and the Genocide of the Jews, 1938-46 (2012), and recently co-edited a joint journal special issue devoted to Ukrainian film history.
