Steven James Bartlett is a philosopher and psychologist. He is the author of numerous books, on topics including epistemology, theory of reference, mathematical logic, and philosophy of physics, human aggression, problem-solving, varieties of intelligence, and the effectiveness of psychotherapies. His research has been supported by the NSF, AAAS, Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions, Lilly, Max Planck Gesellschaft, Alliance Française, and RAND. He has served as professor at Saint Louis University and University of Florida, with subsequent honorary faculty appointments at Willamette University and Oregon State.
