Description

My name is Mohan Moorjani, and when
partition happened I was just eleven years
old. And although it is not a story I hear
told very often anymore, mine is just one in
twelve million.

Fringe First Award-winning and critically acclaimed storyteller, Niall Moorjani, presents a heartfelt piece which explores their grandfather's experiences of the Partitioning of India in 1947.

The play follows the eleven-year-old Mohan as he flees from his home in Sindh, across a border which didn't yet exist and into uncertain times in Delhi and later the United Kingdom. Lyrical storytelling and live music from Sodhi combine to create a provocative and stunning account of a much omitted story from British-Indian history.

This edition was published to coincide with the production at Pleasance Courtyard at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2026.
