Description
Against a backwash of new wave 'synthesiser' bands, Sunnyboys presented a fresh alternative of retro 1960s guitar pop style with Beatlesque fashion, catchy riffs, hook line choruses and surfing guitar solos. From the opening wailing lead guitar that appears to surf beautifully and effortlessly across the first track 'I Can't Talk To You', this album sonically grabs and lifts the listener up until the same guitar line repeated on the last track, the reprise, reappears to shake the listener out of this hypnotic upbeat (mostly) musical trance. Written by a teenage Jeremy Oxley, the lyrics rip to the very core of themes and feelings of teenage love, loss, heartbreak and trepidation.
