Ashley Lucas is Professor of Theatre & Drama, Residential College, English Language and Literature, and the Penny Stamps School of Art & Design, University of Michigan. She is a scholar, artist, educator, and advocate for the transformative potential of theatre, particularly at the intersection of performance, incarceration, and justice. She wrote Prison Theatre and the Global Crisis of Incarceration (Bloomsbury 2020) and co-edited Razor Wire Women: Prisoners, Scholars, Activists, and Artists (SUNY Press 2011).
