David Weir is Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Goldsmiths, University of London, and Emeritus Professor of Comparative Literature at the Cooper Union, New York. His books include Jean Vigo and the Anarchist Eye (2014); Decadence: A Very Short Introduction (2018), and The Oxford Handbook of Decadence (edited with Jane Desmarais, 2022), as well as Trouble in Paradise (2021) and The Leopard (2024) in the BFI Film Classics series.
