Biography

Elizabeth Lahti, MD, is a clinician educator and Director of Narrative Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. She co-founded Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative, a national community of practitioners, educators, and scholars integrating arts and humanities into education, community, and clinical settings. She is a physician consultant for the Art Heals team at the University of Oregon Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and collaborates with academic medical centers nationally and internationally to align arts and humanities with competency-based education models. Her research focuses on reflective practice and narrative medicine in medical education, clinician well-being, and empathy in healthcare.
