Giampaolo Garzarelli is Associate Professor of Economics at the Department of Social and Economics Sciences at Sapienza University of Rome. Professor Garzarelli’s more recent research contributions inerests lie in the field of the New Institutional Economics and Public Choice, with special interest in the Second-generation theory of fiscal federalism, state formation through fission, and the trade-off between centralization and decentralization. He is the Editor in chief of the Journal of Public Finance and Public Choice (Bristol University Press).
