Description
Editor Richard Obinna Iroanya brings together contributors from Africa to analyze current complex security issues in Africa including climate change and terrorism.
What recurrent and emerging threats does Africa need to address? How are various regions grappling with them? What can we learn from these efforts so far?
In this volume, contributors examine conceptual issues of security, state weakness, over throw of elected leadership, and violent extremism. They highlight institutional responses to security threats across the African continent, including the strengths and weaknesses of the responses. By providing detailed, comparative analysis, the book aims to provide a realistic optimism to the discussion and understanding of security threats in Africa.
