Dr. Alexis Abernethy is a Clinical Psychologist and Professor in the School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Theological Seminary. She served as Chief Academic Officer from 2021-2025 and held several other senior leadership roles at Fuller from 2016-2021. She graduated from Howard University with a BS in psychology. She received her MA and PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. She is Board Certified in Group Psychology (ABPP) and a Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association. Her recent edited books include Spiritual Care in Psychological Suffering: How a Research Collaboration Informs Integrative Practice (2023) by Bloomsbury Publishing.
