Rob Higgins was brought up in Stoke on Trent, surrounded by various ceramics at home (18-19th century commemoratives, Delft, Victorian tiles). After retiring from a career in medicine, he wrote several books on ceramics, including Portmeirion Pottery, Mid-century Modern Tiles and Arts and Crafts Tiles.
