Biography

Tsitsi Jaji is Associate Professor of English at Duke University, USA. She is the author of Africa in Stereo: Music, Modernism and Pan-African Solidarity (2013) and three poetry collections: Mother Tongues (2019); Beating the Graves (2017); and Carnaval (2014). Her research encompasses poetry, music, and cinema from across the African diaspora. She formerly served on the Executive Committee of the African Literature Association and is on the editorial boards of Comparative Literature Studies, Journal of Modern Literature and Safundi Journal of South African and American Studies.
