Description
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), vaccines have saved more than 154 million lives in the last 50 years. Despite these statistics, vaccines remain a highly controversial topic among the public.
This expanded and updated second edition features coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath as well as recent advances in vaccine development and delivery. The Vaccine Debate is divided into three sections. Part I offers readers the background information they need to better understand how vaccines work and the wide array available today. This includes coverage of recent breakthroughs, such as the development and proliferation of mRNA vaccines. Part II features in-depth discussions of a selection of controversies and debates related to vaccines, such as vaccine mandates and vaccine safety. Part III provides a collection of illuminating case studies that bring the concepts of the book to life. A variety of useful materials, including a glossary and a directory of resources, round out the volume.
