Karen von Veh is Professor Emerita at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Her research area includes gender and decolonial themes in contemporary South African art. She has published widely on these and related topics in academic journals such as Communicatio, Image & Text, de arte and IKON. In addition, she has written numerous book chapters, and authored and co-authored five monographs on South African artists.
