Susan Burns Garza is a visual rhetorician and retired professor of writing, based in the USA. Over her 45 year academic career, she developed many courses and programs and conducted research in the areas of writing studies, composition pedagogy, writing centers, technical writing, service learning, digital content design and management, border rhetorics, and visual rhetoric. She has presented her work internationally, and has publications in numerous journals and edited collections. Her current research focuses on visualization of victimization in memorial spaces. She is most proud of the outstanding work many of her graduate students have achieved.
