Vannessa Hearman is senior Lecturer in History, School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry, Curtin University, Australia. She is the author of Unmarked Graves: Death and Survival in the Anti-Communist Violence in East Java, Indonesia (2018), which won the Asian Studies Association of Australia’s inaugural Early Career Book Prize in 2020.
