Description
“We often feel like winter is a time when the magic falls away. Rosie shows us that it's very much still there, we just need to know how to look for it.” – Ramona Jones
Rosie Steer's Celtic ancestors celebrated micro-seasons all-year round. Honouring these mini milestones has enabled her to reclaim wintertime, transforming it from something to fear into something to savour.
Gloaming is a collection of cosy crafts, soul-nourishing recipes and slow living activities inspired by stories and traditions from Scottish folklore, divided into four ancient seasons:
· Hairst (harvest)
· Samhain (Hallowe'en)
· Howe o'the Year (winter solstice)
· Waretym (earliest spring).
Revel in Rosie's step-by-step projects such as Clay Pressed Botanical Imprints and an Upcycled Hot Water Bottle Cover; relish her easy-to-make bakes such as Spiced Pumpkin Loaf Cake and Clementine and Almond Buns; and soak up folk stories of Scottish wintertime.
Rosie shows us that we can all find glimmers, even amongst the hardest times and the darkest winters.
· Rosie Steer is the Edinburgh-based creator behind @everythinglooksrosie
· She found solace in the Celtic Wheel of the Year following poor mental health.
· Gloaming is perfect for fans of Katherine May, The Almanac series and The Little Book of Hygge.

Gloaming is a must-have for the seasonally affected among us, charting a gentle way through the darker months and packed full of sweet crafts, botanical and seasonal recipes and beautiful Scottish words – 'scarrow' (faint light), and my personal favourite, 'sneesl' (to begin to rain or snow)!
